The chemical composition of Hastelloy C22 Electrodes is mainly based on its alloy composition, but additional elements like boron help enhance the desired properties of the finished product. Specifically, B16 (boron) is added in small quantities to adjust the electrode's hardness and grain size and create a beneficial microstructure better suited for withstanding extreme temperatures and corrosive environments. B16 also helps improve deposition rate and machinability.
