Duplex Steel 2205 is a two-phase stainless steel composed of about equal parts austenite and ferrite. It is also known as UNS S32205, EN 1.4462 and ASTM 2205 in the industry. This grade offers outstanding corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, making it a preferred choice for demanding environments such as oil & gas, chemical processing, desalination, and marine applications. It offers a significant cost advantage without compromising performance, as it contains less nickel than standard austenitic grades.
